Winners Suffolk Sports Awards & St Edmundsbury Sports Awards School of the Year
The schools has now won two awards for its extensive PE, Sport and Fitness programme!
Primary School of the Year
At a ceremony on 18 October at the Suffolk Showground we won £100, a trophy and certificate as Primary School of the Year .

Well done to the children for taking such a full part in the activities on offer, parents for supporting us by joining in, giving voluntary donations and helping at events. Enormous credit goes to all the staff who organise sports activities at the school and give up so much of their time!
Gold Awards in Bury in Bloom
The school and Children's Centre are celebrating double success in Bury in Bloom as we have both won Gold Awards in the Bury in Bloom Young Green Fingers Competition!

Autumn Term Events
Filming Suffolk County Council filmed fitness activities at the school for a training DVD - Fitness Friday, Trainers, Breakfast Club, Step Aerobics and After School Club. Staff and parents gave several interviews, but the children were the real stars!
Year 3 have been out in Bury St Edmunds studying the Abbeygate Tower and the Abbey Ruins.
Our new pavilion is being put to good use for drama, picnic packed lunches and as a breaktime meeting place. Thankyou to FOSWS for funding this construction.
Clubs Many Y2 children have joined cycling club this term. Other clubs being held for Y3 / Y4 this term include guitars, basketball and Art. Choir, ICT club and gardening will also start soon.
Class flute and clarinet lessons are being held in year 4 and we have a visiting football coach for some PE lessons.
Our 3 Play Leaders are taking Trainers Club at midday for Year 2 and Year 3 children this term.
Fitness Fridays
Next Fitness Friday 'Fitness Pudsey' on 20 November
Huff and Puff - Exercise together with the school at 9.15 a.m. on the playground and 9.30 a.m. / 1.10 p.m. for Nursery and Pre-school. Parents and family strongly encouraged to take part.
New developments at the school
The Pavilion. For shelter and shade at breaktimes and for outdoor lessons. A great place to meet your friends. The pavilion has been funded by FOSWS. Now with an all weather pathway.
New Sand Pit the far end of the field
Much bigger, with a cover to keep cats out!
The Archaeology Site A fantastic new 'discovery' on the school field. Room for a whole class to take part in a 'dig'. We expect to uncover many items from the past!
Children's Centre - a Nature Trail and study area is being created in the space between the centre and the wood
Reception have a new computer area, a small play stage and a new carpet in class 2.
Year 3 The base area has been redecorated and has new flooring, cupboards and furniture. It looks very smart!
The Hall We have a huge new screen and new equipment to show films and project pictures.
The Children's Centre Community Room We fitted a small kitchen area in this room.
ICT equipment We have lots of new computer programs and new equipment to record your ideas!
